I've had these boots since March and been in every type of situation that's available to me in the Northwest. They were purchased with the intent of being a light & fast alpine boot but since they're so comfy I've used them on my easy hiking trails too. They only need a few days to break in and so far they haven't become loose at all. It's so nice to have a heel that's narrower to prevent slipping and increase grip on those sketchy surfaces. The soles were perfect for climbing Mt St Helens. I was able to scale up a sketchy steep snowfield without any traction, just an ice axe for balance. The waterproofing is 100%. In my break in phase I took them onto the beach and had no problems with sand or water coming into my boots. They also went with me (luckily) to Utah and were a godsend after twisting my ankle in my trail shoes. The support and ankle stability kept me going through all 5 NPs. The soles are solid and super helpful for dealing with scrambling over the sharp volcano rocks of the Cascades. I definitely recommend these to women with a low-volume foot and anyone needing a light waterproof boot for all seasons.
