Bag feels cheap, not how it used to be

  • Gender:Male
  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I bought this kit solely for the case after seeing a fellow guides neatly organized kit. It was not easy to track down a bag that was the right size (for multiday backpacking <7 days) and offered enough organizational features. I was severely disappointed when the newer, much lighter, case came from Adventure Medical Kits. I don’t have a good feeling about the longevity of this case, thus I swaddle it in a Sea to Summit dry bag to protect it while packing and unpacking. Of course it came stocked with many things that I would rather not have. Any WFR’s or WEMT’s know where to score a good kit bag with lots of organizational features?

Great value

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I used to sell Adventure Medical Kits for several years, and I always was always impressed by the packaging and thought put into the contents. They knew what they were doing putting these together--it's certainly not just some band-aids and a split thrown into a ziplock.

As Greg mentioned in another review, this kit will also be in my truck full-time. It is a well-rounded kit that can be used for everything from a scraped knee to CPR. The main bag is very durable, with a good metal zipper, and is sectioned into smaller logical pouches, which are also labeled, so finding things in a panic would be easy if necessary.

I hope to never need to use this, but my experience with their smaller backpacking kits let me rest assured that I'll have what I need in pinch.

Be Prepared

Luckily I have not had you use anything in this kit and I hope it stays that way. This seems like a well put together kit and the size is nice for storage in my truck. Fingers crossed that it will remain stored away and never have to be dug out and used

Great FAK

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This is a great group FAK. It is very complete and you might only need to add a few more things. It is somewhere heavy at just over 2 pounds but you should only need one of these in a group so someone who isn't carrying other group stuff can easily carry it.

There is another pouch behind the clear ones that holds quite a few supplies and really the bulk of the kit.

Everyone needs one

Everyone needs a First Aid Kit and this is a good one to have. I think the only thing I've ever used it for was a band-aid, so I can't speak to the actual use of anything else in the kit. It all appears to be quality. Great buy, especially if you can pick it up on steepandcheap.
