    A speedy approach shoe.

The Adidas Women's Terrex Solo Approach Shoe is a lightweight trekker that's sure to get you to faraway climbing crags and back quickly. Abrasion-resistant mesh keeps the upper breathable and comfortable, and the AdiPrene insert ensures extra comfort as well as shock absorption. Adidas also added a plate for impact protection and forefoot stabilization. The Stealth sole utilizes the same material used in 5.10's sticky climbing shoes, so you know you can trust it when you have to step on slippery surfaces.

    Runs Large

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 7.5

I'm usually a 7.5, ordered a 7.5 and when I received them they were too big. If I slid my foot all the way to the front of the shoe, I could fit my finger behind my heel. Customer service helped me out via chat and was so helpful, got me set up with a return label and are currently shipping out a pair of 7's the next day so that they're here in time for my vacation.

    Great for muddy hikes!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 7.5

This is my approach shoe for climbing. I used it on some hikes in Hawaii and it held up great. Especially on the Waihee Ridge Trail. It was dumping on us and we were hiking through mud and my feet stayed DRY and I didn't fall once (I also had a stick for balance). Great rubber, cool looking shoes with good functionality.

The sizing was odd though but I knew this before purchasing. I got a 7.5 and I am a size 8-8.5 in every other athletic shoe. I have big toes tho so I do a runner's tie to make sure my toes arent jamming like crazy when I'm going downhill.

    For Rocks

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

The only complaint I have about this shoe is that there seems to be a lot of heel space. However, I was able to combat this by using the runner's loops at the top the shoe to secure my heel. They handle long approaches well and look very sporty while doing it. I wear a 7.5 and I purchased a 7.5 in this shoe.

    So Sticky!

    Approaching the outdoors

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Looking for a hiking shoe that sticks like a rock climbing shoe? look no further. I got these as a gift from my boyfriend (Grant Kates) and they are perfect! I've already used them to hike up Furgeson canyon in Utah and they made the ascent to the top super easy. They have excellent grip and the tred is great on the lose dirt so you don't have to be scared of losing your foot hold. Not only do these do well on hiking but golfing too! The tred acts like cleats and really holds the ground when you are teeing off. So versatile and comfortable too. Also don't worry about your laces getting in the way Adidas really thought this one through and they have a lace loop so you can tuck them out of the way! I love these shoes and I know you will too. I wear a street shoe size 6 and these fit true to size.

    Awesome shoes!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large

I won't lie, I didn't have super great expectations with these approach shoes from Adidas but I figured I would give them a shot because I love my Adidas hiking boots. They're fantastic! I was super surprised to find that I love these shoes. the rubber is sticky and the shoe is stiff enough for me to climb easy rock routes in and they're plenty comfortable! The only thing is they seem to run large, I ordered an 8 which is the same size as my 5.10 rock shoes and they feel way bigger. Since I read reviews saying they run large I thought ordering the same size as my rock shoe would be enough but if I wasn't planning on always wearing thick socks with these I would exchange them for the 7.5

    Bangin' shoes!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large

I love these shoes! And let it be clear, I'm an approach shoe junkie. I have the 5.10 aescent's, Evolv Cruzes, and the Scarpa approach shoe. I like each shoe for different reasons, but I wanted it to be clear that these shoes are fantastic!

I understand Adidas outdoor is breaking their way into the climbing industry and this is my first purchase with them. They took me a minute to break in (kept eating at my heels), but after that initial break-in period they have been great!

The rubber is super sticky and the shoes overall are very sturdy, much more so than my Aescents and Cruzers. I was climbing some light boulder problems the other day and these shoes stuck to everything like glue. I found them better for climbing than my Aescents. I would be confident leading up to 5.8 in these, they edge pretty well. My friend even snapped a sweet photo of me wearing these shoes.

I wear these around campus, for working out, in-between class and climbing wall, and approaches and I have been very pleased thus far.

I will say I normally wear 8.5 in women's, but those felt huge on me so I sized down to the 8. Hope this helps.

    Bangin' shoes!

    Surprisingly Awesome

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

I was a little hesitant at first to get these shoes, honestly I thought it was hilarious that Adidas even made an approach shoe. I usually wear Scarpas but decided to give these a go. I was pleasantly surprised! Second I put them on they were incredibly comfortable. I feel closer to the ground especially in the heels compared to the Scarpa approach shoe and they felt way better in the toe and ball of my foot. They're quite light and the rubber on the top of the tongue was nice to prevent rubbing.

I got to wear them out the next day on an 11 mile ridgeline scramble/traverse and came away with no blisters and overall pretty happy feet. The rubber was definitely put to the test and needless to say, it was quite sticky! Same if not better than my Scarpas.

I wish they were a tiny bit stiffer, but I didn't feel like it inhibited my climbing abilities. Overall I'm very impressed by these shoes and hope they hold up as good as they feel!

    Surprisingly Awesome

will you be getting these in additional sizes soon? I wear a 7.5.
