This ACR Personal Locator Beacon with GPS Interface has been used around the world. Now it has been approved for land use by backpackers, campers and anyone venturing into the wild. A PLB is an emergency device that is to be used in life threatening situations only. Simply flip the antenna up, turn the switch to transmit, and international search and rescue teams will be notified with satellite speed and precision. Transmission, location and rescue have never been faster. This PLB transmits a signal on internationally recognized distress frequencies. During transmission, the satellite will acquire two signals as well as GPS latitude and longitude coordinates to pinpoint your location. This model will alert authorities to your precise latitude and longitude coordinates in as little as 15 minutes. The ACR PLB has an 11 year lithium battery that is tested to transmit for a minimum of 24 hours at -40°F (-40°C). In warmer temperatures the battery will transmit for several days. Because the ACR PLB employs satellite transmission, its usability knows no borders. This unit is small and lightweight making it easily carried in pack or pocket. Simple 3-position switch with color coded LED ensures correct usage while its stainless steel antenna wraps compactly around bottom case for easy stowage. It floats for rescue at land or sea.
