Light and compressible, this synthetic uses body-warming strategy.

The Marmot Cloudbreak 30 Degree Synthetic Sleeping Bag strategically places extra super-light and compressible Thermal R synthetic insulation at the body core and foot areas for efficient three-season warmth. A moisture-resistant shell protects all that toasty insulation while a draft tube, hood, and face muff fend off body-chilling drafts. Nearly as packable and portable as a down bag, the Cloudbreak gives you the advantages of synthetic construction, including added affordability.

    • European-tested (EN) comfort rated to 30°F for reliable warmth in late spring, summer, or fall weather conditions
    • Body-mapped strategically at core and foot area, lofty Thermal R fine-denier synthetic insulation provides efficient warmth, even when wet
    • Mummy shape keeps insulation close to your body but won’t restrict movement, so you can sleep comfortably
    • Durable, lightweight nylon ripstop with DWR resists water, wear, and tear for enduring performance
    • Head-hugging 3D hood and non-chafing face muff prevent brain-freeze and bone-chilling drafts when temps drop
    • Snagless draft tube prevents drafts from sneaking in through zipper
    • Two hang loops for convenient airing out and drying
    • Stuff and storage sacks included
    • Item #MAR2747

    Great backpacking bag, super light

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

coming in at just under 2 lbs. it;s hard not to like this bag. Marmot does it again with an effective and lightweight bag that fits into any backpack with ease and keeps you warm on the chilly nights in the wild.

    Best bag I've bought

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this bag a few years back when I was planning a 2 week backpacking trip to New Mexico and wanted a lighter weight back that would still be warm at elevation and didn't cost a small fortune. This bag definitely fit the bill. Its light weight and small size make it perfect for backpacking, and it keeps you warm down to about the 30 degree mark. Great price for the quality.

    Lightweight and Warm

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I originally purchased a Marmot Cloudbreak 20, and while it was very nice, it was a bit larger to pack than I really wanted so I swapped it out. The Cloudbreak 30 packs up very small and yet has plenty of warmth. I slept out in a very well ventilated single person tent in late August in NY's Adirondack region and had to keep the zipper partially open because the bag had plenty of insulation. Construction is great. The entire bag is very slippery which helps getting in and out. It also has lots of loft in key areas like around your feet and neck.

I'm 5-11, 178lbs with fairly broad shoulders. The standard length was plenty big enough. More leg room would have been more comfortable but I wouldn't want it at the expense of pack size or thermal benefits. I was able to sleep comfortably on my back or side.

I was able to pack this and my Flashlight 1 tent into a Gregory Z40 large and still have room for all the essentials for a 1-2 night trip.

    Great Bag

A friend of mine recommeded the sleeping bag to me. I have used it several times, and look forward to using it every time. It holds up very well in cold temperatures. Strong material, great color, packs well.

Would this bag be suitable for the wet conditions of interior Alaska during the summer months? I need something lightweight and compactible as well as waterproof.

      Hey there!

Yep, this would be a great bag. The insulation is Thermal R so it won't get soggy and cold in wet conditions. The EN rating has this bag at being comfortable for women at 41 degrees, comfortable for men at 32 degrees and survival at 4 degrees. Have fun!
