My customer uses this for all weather conditions - snow, rain, heat, etc. this thing is his best friend. He's made it his own by repping the goat and mounting his go pro as well.
Quality helmet for the price and great protection.
Check him out in action when he used it for his summit of Mt. Baldy and email me if I can help get you the outfitted for your adventures as well.

    Perfect for Pricepoint

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As others have said, BD's Half Dome is likely the best climbing helmet on the market for its price point. It's easily adjustable, comfortable for a full day on the rocks or in the mountains, lightweight given its burliness, and offers all of the protection you need in a climbing helmet.

At this price, you'd be hard pressed to find a better brain bucket.

A great, simple climbing helmet that is the standard for many. It wears well, has a good suspension system, and doesn't look too nerdy. My only complaint was with my first one; the foam padding is starting to de-glue... but the thing was definitely abused. All in all though, I'd prefer this helmet over similarly priced ones from any other brand.

Awesome light and a good price

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Fits true to size. I have a very small head, and the small fit excellently. The adjustable strap allows for a perfect fit with or without a beanie on. Very small so most hoods can go over it. I have a Mamut shell and the hood won't go over my other helmets, but fits over this. I think for the price you can't do any better. The headlamp clips aren't amazing, but function as intended and stay out of the way otherwise.

Also I will say very light. I don't like climbing with a helmet but for big wall / trad it often times becomes a necessity and this helmet is barely noticeable.

    Inexpensive and Good

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've only been climbing with this helmet once, but I like it so far. It's comfortable, light, and true to the size.

I haven't fallen on it so I can't speak to it's durability or level of protection, but BD gear is high-quality as far as I can tell.

    Great helmet

Tried it out on my trip to Eagle Peak in YNP, sure enough while climbing through the pass a rock the size of a pear hit my helmet straight on from above & i came out alright. Does the job & is a comfortable fit.

    Great helmet

    Fits like a glove

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have a P-sized head ("P" as in "pumpkin"). Usually helmets that attempt to cover more range, ie M/L, tend to be on the small side. This helmet was just big enough for me. The fit was comfy and the color was nice. Overall... I'm happy.

Helmet does what it's made for. I got hit in the head with a baseball sized piece of ice and made it out alive ha. I've used it a few times and so far so good. Clips held my headlamp nicely. Also has the perfect amount curve in the front to attach a gopro adhesive.

    A classic that works

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've run with a Petzl helmet for the last five years or so and it was time for a replacement. I always disliked how the Petzl helmet fit—really high on the head, the straps always twisted, just generally goofy looking. This helmet is a big improvement for me. It fits like a glove, feels comfortable, fits well in my pack, and looks just a little less goofy (well, for a climbing helmet). I never climb outdoors without a helmet, and this is my new go-to.

    Simplicity and Security

I really enjoy this helmet. It is a simple design, plastic shell with an EPS foam liner for protection. The foam does not go all the way around your head, it is only on top. So this helmet is designed to protect you from an impact from above i.e. falling rock. I really like how lightweight this is and the fit adjust system works really well. I'd recommend this to any climber who is looking to be safer at the crag. I've had multiple occasions when rocks come down towards me or the rope slaps the top of my head and I'm grateful to have my dome protected by the half dome.
