Louis Garneau started making cycling apparel with his wife in his father's garage in 1983. Within five years, the company had expanded to 118 employees. It seems that the word was out on this athlete-owned and run cycling apparel company. Since then, Garneau has become a world leader in the design and manufacture of cycling helmets, apparel, and footwear. Additionally, Garneau has been heavily involved with charitable causes ranging from MS and cancer to the Friends of the Elderly Organization, which helps to relieve loneliness and isolation among the elderly.
