We’d bet a certain two-plank-related company is pissed about the 686 Smarty Marker Jacket, but what’s new? We’re sorry to say it, but they don’t have anything on this plaid 3-in-1, especially when you get closer and examine the quilt-patterned shoulder patch, buckle detail, and clean two-button storm flap front. Yep, this one has steeze for days, and when you throw in a fully removable fleece liner, endless pockets, zip-off hood and fully seam-taped construction, you know the Marker is aimed at your next powder assault.
Bottom Line: Far more jacket than you thought possible.
I got this on brociety for $119 and I thought I got an incredible deal. For $75 (if you wear a large) you definitely should not pass this up.
I am 6'3" 225 and I love the way the XL fits. It is long and baggy, but not so much that it inhibits my movement. Covers everything. The material is durable and soft, and all the pockets are really useful. Also, it is super warm with the liner in. I wore this coat with a really thin base layer in low-20s weather, and I got hot enough to open up the zippers.
The only disagreement I have with the description of this coat is the 15k waterproof rating. I think it is more like 10k, because it does not stay dry as long as other 15k gear I have used, but it is still sufficient for almost any condition short of rain.
I love this jacket, it is warm and functional with tones of pockets. The liner is great by itself or zipped into the jacket, I'm actually wearing it right now. I am totally from the grunge era so the plaid is right up my alley. As said in the other review the goggle and mobile stash pockets are sweet. Other than the liner my favorite feature is the pass pocket on the cuff. Ya it's a little thing but I don't think I could live without it now. The medium fits me well, 5'9" 38" chest.

Probably not. I am also 5'11" but I weigh 200 pounds. I like longer sleeves too. The large fits me very well with comfortable sleeve length. The medium may be okay due to how how light you are. Ultimately it depends on where the shoulder seam hits you.
Just put this jacket through a weekend trip and the jacket is excellent. Upon first inspection i was concerned if the zippers on the hood and coat would be strong enough but they are holding up so far. Other then that the coat has a ton of pockets to store just about everything you can think of. The goggle and cellphone pocket are extremely functional b/c they are on not inside the coat but outside the main zipper on the jacket but inside the snaps so you can get to it quickly but also super secure with your stuff. Loved how high the collar comes up on my face!
