Best Jacket ever? EVER!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This jacket keeps me nice and toasty while breaking any type of weather this brutal winter has thrown at it. The included liner is a total bonus and have found myself sporting it all around town when then shell is just too much. Totally worth the cost and fully recommend it to everyone!

If you want quality, go with 686.

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is my second 686 jacket. The last one I bought nearly 10 years ago and I still wear it on a regular basis. This new jacket seems like it will hold up just as good. The quality of the material is excellent. Taped seams are great. The removable fleece liner is really nice (it has thumb holes). One thing you cannot tell from the picture is that there is a nice fur liner around the collar so when you're zipped up, you don't get a draft down your neck. I'm what some might consider short and stocky (or fat if you want to be a D about it). I have a 36 inch waist but wear 38 for comfort so I had to go with the XL. Sleeves are a little long but it's not a big deal. Because of the cuff on the sleeve, they don't fall/slip down, just a little bulky in the elbow/forearm area. I think this is a great jacket and look forward to owning it for many years to come. Taking it out to Utah next week. I will update my review if I find any issues with the jacket, but I don't anticipate there being any.

Exactly What Was Needed

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got this jacket for my husband for Christmas and he loves it. This jacket layers well, has great ventilation, and pocket space for miles. It is long enough to keep snow out of those places you don't want snow. Very satisfied with my purchase.
