The 686 Plexus Pinnacle 3-Ply Pant is a technologic wonder, featuring exclusive BOA adjustability and fully-welded seam construction. The slim-cut Plexus is the first in the industry to use the BOA dial system, making waist adjustment easy, one-handed, and practically indestructible. Add fully welded seam construction, laser-cut pockets with watertight zips, and an engineered, articulated fit, and it becomes obvious there are few pants out there in the same realm. Paired with the matching Plexus Pinnacle Jacket from 686, it’s practically unstoppable.

Bottom Line: More tech than a box of calculators.

Not so great...

I bought these as to try out the entrant fabric as i thought it would be a good alternative to Gore-tex. Turns out it is ok as far as waterproofness, but i was not happy with the stiffness of the material and also it makes a rediculous amount of noise when youre walking around. The cut of these pants is also horrible very restrictive. The boa waist tightener is useless as it doesnt tighten far enough to be useful and the button on the front gets in the way of your belt. And last but not least... I have worn these pants only 4 times snowboarding and the material on the back is already starting to fray and peel away as the seems appear to be glued or something and dont hold up. These are definitely going back.

wow - i've gone thru 4 pairs of 686 pants over the past few years, and loved all of them. I guess I should have read the fine print about the cut of these pants, because they are unbelievably restrictive....the ass sags, but the thighs bunch b/c of the narrow knee cut, and your range of motion is zilch. Maybe if you want to look like a douche, get these...but definitely not if you want to ride.
