Get It Before Labor Day Weekend—Order With Free 2-Day*by 5pm MT 9/2/15

If you want to stay warm and dry, fill a trash bag with leftover fiberglass insulation and wear it like a coat. If you want to stay warm, dry, and lookin' fly, save yourself some trouble and check out the 686 Mannual Etch Insulated Men's Jacket. It's got 80g polyfill insulation in the body, and an InfiDry-8 waterproof membrane incorporated into the fabric to ward off water. The body of the coat features a custom-printed stripe pattern on polyester twill fabric that's way better looking than the trash bag, so you won't be worried about heading out to the bar after a day tearing up the resort, and all the critical seams are taped to keep out moisture and spilled beer. There's also an adjustable powder skirt—good luck sewing one of those into your trash bag.

  • InfiDry-8 2-layer waterproof shell
  • 80g body/40g sleeve and hood insulation
  • Critical seams are taped
  • Adjustable powder skirt
  • Custom-printed stripe pattern

Incredible Jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I use this as an everyday jacket when I'm feeling lazy (aka most days). With only a t-shirt underneath, I get a tiny bit chilly in 30 degree+15mph winter, but wind doesn't penetrate through and snow/rain fear it. Very warm and weatherproof. Has lots of great pockets inside and out; the two main front pockets have zippers that go down instead of up so they're easier to re-zip in gloves.

Sizing: I'm 6'0" and 195 and bought the XL. IT fits like a snowboard jacket- spacious inside for base layers. goes down to halfway down my thighs, and sleeves cover about half of my hand.

I am about 5'11'' and 140 lbs. I am a small in just about every other brand of winter jacket. I have tried on a 686 "All Access" fit jacket before (size small) and it was huge on me. Is this one any different?

Hey Andy,
With the same 'All Access' fit, it will fit the same as that other model you tried, it is definitely cut to fit a lot larger/baggier.

White Stripe Version.
6'2" 190- Went with XL and seems to work well. Not too baggy but comfortable and allows layering when you need it.
Used for Boarding and skiing!
Been happy with the quality and price 686 provides!

Digging it!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great looking jacket (I got the white stripe), lightweight and warm with a single midweight layer underneath for temps in the 20's or 30s. I'm 5"5 150lbs, bought the medium and it fits really well. The sherpa fleece in the collar is awesome.
