If you need a new jacket and want something you won't see every other kid on the hill rocking, check out the Whiskey-exclusive, mega-versatile 686 Gus Jacket. There's enough room to layer up on really cold days, and enough pocket space to steal an entire month's worth of free ketchup packets and saltine crackers from the salad bar in the lodge. The 10K-rated waterproof fabric keeps you from getting soggy on pow days, and a built-in stash pocket conceals your tools for 'binding adjustments' in the woods.

  • Available exclusively on WhiskeyMilitia.com

Bottom Line: The jacket's full name is actually Gustavo T. Jacketson, but it just goes by Gus.

Sickest..Jacket...EVER

Got this Jacket last Season of Whiskey Militia for CHEAP. Couldn't be any happier! It held up amazing on the coldest and sloppiest of days, and looked dope as F... When where it out. The Hidden pockets in the sleeve are nice for a "stash" and the thing never gets wet. If I had a third thumb, the Gus would get all three of them!

Yes. In the pamphlet on the jacket it says easy access zippered chest vent.

Everyone I know will be able to find me. When I put the jacket on it fit great. I am 6'3" 205 and got the XL. I got paranoid when I read the review that wrist were tight, I didn't find this to be true. I was also okay that the chest vent was a chest vent and not a pocket. Cant wait to test it out in some pow this weekend.

I'm about 6' and 155lbs. I like my jackets not baggy, but not tight. What would you recommend?

I'm 6'3" 185 lbs small fits me snug, and medium gives me a little more breathing room. That advice is on 686 jackets in general. I'd recommend you get a small :) good luck

looks cool......but sucks otherwise

I got this because it was a good deal and I liked the hot plaid pattern. But thats pretty much all this jacket has going for it. A list of complaints:

- Sizing is huge. I usually wear XL jackets for a good loose (but not overly baggy) fit (I'm 6'3", 190lbs), but this looked ridiculous on me.
- Pretty weak pocket layout. The two side pockets are what they are, and same for the two corresponding inside pockets. I thought the chest "pocket" was for an mp3 player, but unfortunately its not a pocket at all -- you can open it to create a hole to whatever you have under your jacket. I thought it might at least provide access to a nearby inside pocket, but the only inside pockets are at the very bottom of the jacket. The layout of the pockets was very disappointing and lacking in function.
- My biggest complaint: the wrist holes. Despite getting a ridiculously large size, I could not fit the wrist part of my gloves through the wrist hole in the jacket. This shouldn't have been a problem since there are straps to tighten up the wrists, but unfortunately the wrist holes are already very tight. This would cause cold, wet hands on the mountain. If the wrist holes were bigger, this jacket would at least be wearable, but as it is, I had to return this jacket.
- Not very breathable. I guess I can't complain too much about breathability since its advertised as 8k. However, just want to give a heads up to those who aren't aware, that you'll probably end up sweaty and overheating.
- On a similar note, just because you're sweaty doesn't mean that you're comfortably warm. This jacket doesn't have any insulation (as you should be aware by the ad) and is just a shell.

Overall, I've never hated a jacket like I hate this one. It looks pretty steezy, but is a functional mess.
