Description

Y so serious?

If there are backcountry booters, cliff drops, and pow lines on the menu, the 4FRNT YLE Ski is the utensil you want to stuff yourself silly. It's the signature plank of backcountry freestyle boss Wiley Miller, so it's no surprise that it comes with a stomp-happy 119 mm waist, a near-center mounting point for silky smooth spinning, and a fully symmetrical twin-tip design for almost-too-easy switch riding. It's the ski Wiley rode to glory in the X Games Real Ski Backcountry contest, so it's sickness shouldn't be surprising, but we bet you'll still be blown away by the combination of rockered tips and tails and camber underfoot, which lets you slash loose turns and gives you the versatility to make whatever sort of turn you want without sacrificing all your edge grip. The YLE isn't meant to be light as a feather, but the wood core, fiberglass laminates, and semi-cap construction keep it super poppy and playful without unnecessary ounces, so you'll be boosting, slashing, and buttering on a whole different level.

  • Camber underfoot with a rockered tip and tail
  • Wood core with fiberglass laminates
  • Semi-cap construction
  • True twin tip
  • Traditional contact points
  • Symmetrical design

Y U no buy YLE yet?

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm just another reviewer with a painful jaw that has yet to stop dropping. Read what everyone else says. YLE's are rad.
I'm picky. I hate most ski companies. I dislike most pro models too. But this ski is exceptional.
It's like scotch. Smooth and tasteful, yet bold and teeth-gritting. It's stiff when you need it to be, but it butters on both tip and tail like a park ski. It doesn't feel 118mm underfoot. It's really weird.
Don't try and screw around with all the big brands and their expensive models that they discontinue every three years.
The only other ski like this that (I think) is comparable is the Liberty Origin. I love Liberty to the ends of the earth, and both the YLE and Origin do wonderful things to those who enjoy the good ol' snow-capped hills.
Buy it. Please. I don't even work for 4FRNT.

Talked with my friend who presses skis over there. He said he has not heard of the ski changing at all. He is going to check with the designer on Friday but, hes sure its the same ski just a different graphic.

It is the same ski as last year and just as fun as always! I love this ski. Killer backcountry freestyle shred. Plus the bases are bad ass!
