Description

A one-ride show that makes your stable of skis quiver in fear.

Harvest deep powder all morning, lay waste to groomers before lunch, then float through the park on your way to the locker room; the 4FRNT MSP Ski opens the door to supreme all-mountain shredding. Deep inside the MSP's core lies a brawny MEGAblock wood core that gives this ski forgiving yet powerful personality. Outside, a dual radius sidecut lays out wide, maching turns when you tip it on edge at a shallow angle, and blisteringly-fast small-radius turns when its tipped over even further. Add a mid-fat footprint and fat tip to this bonanza of features, and the MSP might be the only stick you'll ever need to storm the hill from dawn 'till dusk.

  • X4 Dampening System uses laminated elastometric rubber foil for an extra smooth ride
  • Q45 layering places fiberglass above and below the wood core to increase torsional and longitudinal stiffness
  • Fully wrapped edges added durability for season after season of abuse

Trying to decide between these and the line prophet 100. I'm 15, 5'9" 130# expert/above advanced and ski anything from bumps to trees to chutes in Colorado. Any suggestions??

I have prophets and I would highly recommend them!! they are a go anywhere do anything ski and you wont look back if you get them!!

I think for what you describe the MSP would be a better ski. Plenty of float but a little smaller wist to make those groomers and bumps a little more enjoyable.

Hey, I'm trying to determine what size MSP's I should get...
I'm a seventeen year old, 5'10" and 140 lbs. I would consider myself an expert/above advanced skier who skis the backcountry, park, bumps, whatever in Colorado and Vermont. I currently use a pair of Volkl Bridges that are 176's. Should I go with the 181 or the 171.

Hey Janky,

Probably can't go wrong with either. I'd say if you're going to hit more trees, bumps and park, go with the 171. If you're going to bomb down runs and want something more stable, do the 181. I'm 6'1", 150lbs and I ski a 185cm, but I don't touch the park...

Janky,

Go with the 181's if you're as good as you say you are. You should also look at Wiley Miller's pro model that's coming out for this upcoming season. It's the YLE. Check it out, it's pretty dope.

How do these handle in the moguls? I'm comparing these to the Volkl Bridge and Rossignol S86 Freeride. Thanks in advance.

I'm 6 foot and about 210, would the 181 or 187 be better for me?

I would go for the 187 if it were me. I'm about your size, and the 187 skis awesome.

MSP 181

I just skied my first couple days on my new 181 MSPs and they were awesome! Great in the bumps, on groomers at high speeds and through the chop and push piles in the afternoon. These skis are quick and a ton of fun! 4FRNT make some quality products as the Deadbolt bindings are sick too!

how tall are you ? i'm thinking of the same size right now, but don't know exactly if it will fit. i'm 1,75 m height and 69-70 kg weight.

This is how I use my msp's. Not a powder ski by any means but I love them for the tight tree stashes 'cause they're quick and light, and float pretty good. ...I love em and they treat me well.

Size suggestion?

I ride EC, hard pack and ice. The MSP sounds like a good ski, just don't know what size. I am 5'9-1/2" weigh 183lbs.
I am a fairly aggressive skier. Looking to dabble in park. I am currently skiing on skiboards (110cm) and feel that I need more high speed stability.

So.... 181 or 187??

Best Answer Responded on

Probably the 181 dude. The behemoth 187 is intended for the biggest of guys, who've got maybe half a foot and 20 lbs on you. Even the 181 itself is still 2+ inches taller than you, which is right about where beginner/intermediate park skiers should have it (more advanced park riders usually go bigger for stability and wider landing platform). Also the shorter one will have a lower swing weight, so better if you end up progressing in the park more than anywhere else.

What size? I am 5'9" 150lb and consider myself an advanced aggressive skier. I will be using this as a hard-snow ski for groomers, bumps, occasional park stuff at the I-70 resorts (keystone, breck, etc). My last few skis have been in the ~175cm range so I was thinking about the 181 msp. Does this ski feel long? short? true to size?

I am an advanced intermediate skier on the East Coast. I am looking for a light, responsive all mountain ripper that can charge groomers, but hit the fresh stuff the few days we get it in the East. I am looking at the 4Frnt MSPs or the Line Prophet Flites. Any advice?

You sound like an ideal candidate for the MSP's. I don't know anything about the Line Prophet's, though.

Hey im a 18 yearsold 6'2 and ive been snowboarding for 5 years, i recently had reconstructive knee surgery and found snowboarding to hard, Ive tried skiiing once a few years ago and I didnt seem to have a problem with it. Im considering 3 skis, the salomom lords, the salomon twenty twelves, and the 4frnt msp, I want to use them for park, groomers and powder skiing.
