You can't spell his name, but you know who Hoji is and what he's all about—so you probably already know what to expect from his 4FRNT pro model ski: a ripping, pow-loving maniac that's not opposed to some serious skintrack time. Hoji's human-powered ethos is pretty well known, so 4FRNT updated his namesake ski with a new poplar and paulownia Pop Core, which lends a 15% weight reduction from previous years. That way, you save your hip flexors and your energy when you're punching up 4,000 feet to the top of an unnamed peak in interior BC. Both woods are strong and snappy, too, so you can really put the Hoji through its high-speed paces without feeling unstable or chattery. Fiberglass laminates give the boards even more stability and edge control, and 4FRNT's Vibe Veil technology uses a vibration-dampening layer to take the squirreliness out of these fully rockered monsters.

At 112mm underfoot, the Hoji is still nimble enough to slarve turns through the trees, but with Reflect Tech technology, the rocker radius and sidecut match—allowing the ski to edge smoothly and predictably. With a 30m turn radius, the Hoji lives for big lines skied fast. Reverse camber and tapered extremities take the drawbacks of rocker out of the equation by eliminating tip and tail hook when you're in powder and providing a platform for a powder skiing sensation unmatched by any other ski on the market. The semi-cap construction wraps the topsheet around the sidewall, providing increased durability and longevity to the ski. So when you're ready, step into the Hoji and charge like never before, whether you're ripping Hollywood lines or putting in first descents far away from civilization.

    Great in the Pow!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Looking for a rockered ski that smears pow turns for a living? Look no further! The Hoji - so named after skiing legend and personal idol of mine (Eric Hjorleifson) destroys pow with its rockered profile and 112 waist width. The 112 width provides the perfect amount of float to give you that effortless sensation underfoot while ensuring plentiful face shots. This ski is a great pow ski or backcountry rig (for shorter tours). Only time I didn't 100% like the ski was on groomers as it chattered a bit and seemed a bit unstable (however this is not the skis element , it likes soft snow). Please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions or are looking to place an order! I will personally assist you and would love to chat about your winter/spring ski plans. I seriously haven't figured out why anyone would buy any other ski. These things are super underrated game changers and they are the only skis I use. The full rocker makes them amazing in powder without being super wide. It also enables you to pivot on a dime. If u really need or want to carve on harpack you can do it because of the stiffness and reflect tech. I no longer understand the point of camber and I'm only concerned that they will one day stop making these and that I will have to go back to rocker \ camber \ rocker profile.
