Get It Before Labor Day Weekend—Order With Free 2-Day*by 5pm MT 9/2/15

A hard-charging, powder-crushing beast you can still get up the skin track.

Back for its third season, Eric Hjorleifson's 4FRNT Hoji Ski returns with all the same technologies that have made it and the Renegade so wildly successful. Utilizing the Reflect Tech, reverse camber, and semi-cap construction of the Renegade, think of the Hoji as a smaller, nimbler, more touring-centric little brother. Setting the Hoji apart from its brethren, the squashed pintail easily sinks in the snow during transitions, makes for reliable skin attachments, and allows for a more forward mounting position, giving the Hoji a more centered and balanced feel.

At 112mm at the waist, the Hoji is still nimble enough to slarve turns through the trees, but with Reflect Tech technology, the rocker radius and sidecut match, allowing the ski  to edge smoothly and predictably. With a 30m turn radius, the Hoji lives for big lines skied fast. Reverse camber takes the drawbacks of rocker out of the equation by eliminating tip and tail hook when you're in powder and provides a platform for a powder skiing sensation unmatched by any other ski on the market, apart from the Renegade and Raven. The semi-cap construction wraps the topsheet around the sidewall, providing increased durability and longevity to the ski. So when you're ready, bolt into the Hoji and charge like you never have before.

Great powder ski.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

When the conditions are right, this ski is just a blast. From my experience, it really shines when there's anything soft out there. Even in an inch or two of fresh snow, it can smear, surf and even carve with decent edge hold. It's also somewhat of a stout ski, so I've found that it does well on steeper lines, as long as I turn a fair amount and keep the speed somewhat in check. Rockered skis are just super fun when it's soft out, and this ski is just that.

I wouldn't call this a one ski quiver, however, and I don't think 4Frnt is marketing it that way either. I've skied it on a few bullet proof days in the east, just to see how it did. It will get down the mountain ok, but I noticed that there was a bit of a rocking chair feel to it as I had a hard time finding the middle of the ski. I could almost ski down the entire run completely sideways. I think this is pretty typical of a full rocker ski, but it's just important to note.

If you're going for the quiver of skis, this makes a great powder ski that can carve in anything relatively soft (for a wide ski). If you're looking for a one ski quiver, I would consider something with the more typical rocker/camber/rocker profile that a lot of all arounder skis share.

Awesome Ski

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The Hoji is one of the best all mountain/big mountain skis made. It's damp, and has the mass to charge variable conditions. It has enough flex in the tip to play around and jib. The full rocker profile absolutely rips tight trees like a boss, and is great in powder, very surfy. Put it over on edge and it will carve a long radius turn, or slarve your way into a shorter turn shape, on groomers or even bumps. Awesome ski, kills it everywhere here in Jackson.

This is my second favorite ski that I have tried from the last 3-4 years, just behind the late and great Volkl Katana. My close friend daily drives this ski, he rips all conditions with ease. We have the same BSL on our boots, and whenever I switch skis with him, I know im going to have a good time on the hoji. GET THIS SKI NOW!!

Pow Day Game Changer

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

HOJI hast truly mastered the idea of reverse camber here! This is the best "pow" ski I've ever had but is also extremely versatile. Plenty of edge control on fall line and on hard pack snow. As soon as you ski it you will fall in love. It has an amazing surf feel to it and is surprisingly super nimble for the higher turn radius.

You could ride this ski every day no problem and will be SUPER stoked when it snows!

Hey this ski looks amazing. However not to sure on the length. I spend around 80% in bounds and 20% out. I'm around177 cm tall and around 85 kgs. I'm an advanced to expert skier (rookie touring). I'm afraid 187 is to long and 179 is to short. (187 to big for my novice touring and 179 to short for the resort)

Any help/comment on that issue?

Go with the 187s. Hoji's ski a bit short due to its camber, so given your size/ability; 187 would be perfect. I ski on 195s (a bit taller than you) and they are perfectly balanced, while 187s felt a bit short for me...
