The advanced to expert-level 4FRNT EHP Alpine Ski's three sizes and shapes give superhucker Eric Hjorleifson the float and strength to tackle the biggest, gnarliest lines he can find around the globe. Designed like a custom quiver, the EHP's three lengths are all significantly different from each other. The 190 is the most traditional big-mountain bomber, with a slightly upturned tail and a moderate sidecut that will tear up hardpack without sacrificing powder performance—a great on-resort plank that will shine on dump days. The 186 is a backcountry tree-skier's dream, with a long nose, zero camber and a rockered pintail for tips-up orientation and tight turns in the deep stuff. The 193 is an all-out, cliff-dropping, straightlining monster, with the same long nose and trim stern of the 186 grafted onto the body of an NFL linebacker. In all three iterations, the EHP's burly wood core gives you smooth, consistent flex and durability.

Bottom Line: There's nothing covered with snow that you can't conquer on these babies—all you need to bring with you is a helicopter and a cameraman.

This is the same Alex as in the question below, I just had a few more. First off, how stiff is this ski? I know its made for skiing powder, but once I inevitably end up on a groomer or once its all tracked out how can I expect them to handle. Second, is there any rocker to this model as there is with the 186 and 193 or does it have a more traditional shape? Lastly, how would this ski compare to the gotama in the same length or even with the 183 (i hear it skis short). I've been shopping around for something with a 100+mm waist and there seem to be lots of options.

This ski is what I would describe as a mid-stiff, not like a race ski but not as soft as a park ski. They will handle ok on groomers, you will be able to turn and carve with them but don't expect them to handle as well as something say in the 80's underfoot. The 190 has a traditional shape. I do not know how they compare in length to a Gotama but I could imagine it being an American ski vs. European that 4FRNT measures full ski length while Volkl uses running length.

Sweet Pow Tool

The 186 is my tool of choice. Unlike most rockered skis, the EHP has zero camber, so it excels in all conditions, not just powder. In the crud, the slight rocker keeps the tips from flopping around and the early rise along with the pintail makes it one of the best pow skis out there.

I'm interested in the 190cm version of this ski. I currently ride 179 PE's and would be getting these skis as a quiver ski rather than as a replacement. I understand that this is a totally different realm of ski but was wondering if I could expect to be able to handle it. I'm 6'3" 170 lbs, and ski fairly aggressively. I live in the Midwest but make a few trip out west a year

Obviously not a great ski for the Midwest ice. They are a very awesome ski on pow however. At your height/weight/skill level the 190 should work great for you, just expect much performance on groomers.

I have had these for a couple weeks now. If you want to charge and ski powder hard and fast this is the ski to do it with. The 193 is sick!
