Tear the mountain a new one.
4FRNT designed the Devastator Ski to do one thing: everything. The jury's still out on its ski ballet chops, but there's no doubt about its powder, big-mountain, and hardpack performance, which all starts with 4FRNT's ReflectTech design. Fully rockered skis like the Devastator have traditionally had trouble edging consistently, but ReflectTech matches the rocker radius to the sidecut radius, offering smooth and predictable edging and providing more effective edge as you lay the ski over. This lets you rail aggressive turns at speed and break out of them in a hurry to dump speed, hit a cliff, or slash a giant spray-turn right in the photog's face.
The Devastator's ash and beech core has been wrapped up in 4FRNT's semi-cap construction, which blends a cap's light weight with a sidewall's strength and durability and also decreases swing weight for a jibbier, more maneuverable ski. Don't confuse maneuverable with wimpy, though—fiberglass layers keep the Devastator stiff and solid, while the Vibe Veil vibration-dampening layer keeps the ride smooth even when you're pushing your speed limit to the breaking point. And, while the ski is fully reverse camber, the low rocker profile of the tail provides solid turn finishing, so you don't feel like you're stuck on a boat that's got a mind of its own.

Do It All, And Have Fun Doing It
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
Reflect tech is the best thing that ever happened to skis. Lay it up on rail and through down a GS turn or pop out of 3' of snow after doping 20' into it. This ski is for everything and everyone.
Swiss Army Knife
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
I'll just start out by saying that I am a big fan of reflect tech. I've been on a lot of fully rockered skis and for the most part they slay when conditions are soft, but when you hit chunder or hard pack they are like a fish out of water. This has been the case with all of the fully rockered skis that I've tried except for the Devastators (reflect tech), Hoji's (reflect tech) and the Rossi S6 (no longer in production).
I needed these skis to be a swiss army knife in my quiver, so I went with the 184 and mounted them up with STH 2's and Cast Touring plates. I've used them for everything: cruising groomers with my 5 year old, spinning laps on the Pali chair with friends, park laps, side-country jaunts, and even short tours.
These sticks can do it all and like to be skied from a neutral stance. They make the mountain a playground. They are can ski switch, hit tables, straight line, crush moguls, float in powder, stomp drops, etc.
These sticks are heavy and stiff, so if you're used to light noodles then hit the gym before you strap these on. With my Cast plates, they are probably one of the heaviest touring rigs out there, but if you're not going for more than a few hours they'll work fine on the way up, and the ride down will be well worth it.
