The 4FRNT Deadbolt 18 Binding is a classic, big-mountain freestyle clamp for aggressive skiers. Designed in collaboration with veteran binding manufacturer Tyrolia, the Deadbolt's bold colors stand out in photo shoots, deep powder, and on the ski rack, so you'll never lose track of your planks. Performance-wise, it is designed for total reliability under extreme use. An extra wide AFD and full diagonal release in both the toe and heel ensure reliable release in dangerous falls, and full-metal housing means you'll have them for years to come.

  • Zero ramp angle for easier switch skiing
  • Reinforced steel forward pressure track

Bottom Line: 4FRNT's most-core clamp offering.

Great bindings

By:

Out of all the bindings I've skied, it seems that the FKS and Peak/Deadbolt series are the only bindings I can really rely on. I put these bindings on my all mountain skis (181 On3p jeronimos), So they saw a ton of use on rails early season, and due to the lack of snow this year, a ton of use on ice and rock-hard moguls, as well as some endurance testing against stumps, rocks, dirt etc. The thing that really sold me on these bindings though, was the lack of wear and tear. After an entire season, the lack of play in the toe and heel is astounding (compared to bindings like my STH 16's that had so much play in the toe, and heel especially, that I decided to retire them after one season). My Peak 15's I had last year showed the same level of durability, which is pretty comforting. These bindings are on the heavy side for sure (not something I'm concerned with in an 18 DIN bindings), but from my experience these are bomber bindings and at ~$240 are worth every penny.

Do these bindings work with a brake that fits skis that are 130mm

Do these bindings work with a brake that fits skis that are 130mm wide underfoot? Is the 130mm brake available to order?

Hey,

We do not have it. However, if you contact 4FRNT they should have a 130mm brake for you to order.

No longer a sceptic.

I got these bindings at the beginning of the season not really sure what to expect, but after a lot of good hard shred on them I can only say positive things about them. They aren't too heavy, they are bomber, and they're fresh looking.. I definitely recommend.

Great Performance, Tiny bit heavy

By:
April 6, 2011

I've used these all season, and on the days you need to crank up DIN's up into 13+ it makes the minor extra weight completely worth it.

Bear in mind that I'm at 6'2" and 200+ pounds and ski pretty aggressively (minor cliff drops, lots of speed). If that's who you are and how you ski, a burlier binding like this might be right for you.

And to be perfectly frank, the bright yellow binding looks pretty sweet.

Heel pre-release...

By:
April 14, 2011

Unfortunately i've had some issues with pre-releasing. Forward pressure is set correctly. Had 2 crashes caused by heel popping out at moderate speeds. The 2 pairs of tyrolia/4frnt bindings have never worked out for me as well as Looks. I know others say the same thing about Looks (or any other brand)... go with what works for you :-)
