Description

A limited edition of the Renegade ski that's been blessed by the Backcountry.com goat.

Look closely and you'll see that the Backcountry.com Renegade Ski bears the mark of the goat on the topsheet. Backcountry.com teamed up with 4FRNT Skis to have a limited run of this one-of-a-kind ride handmade at 4FRNT's headquarters right here in Salt Lake City. You get the same pro-worthy flex, full-rocker camber profile, and unrelenting power of the Renegade ski, but with a unique graphic you can't get anywhere else. Don't sleep on it—your friend may be buying the last pair as you read this.

  • Full reverse camber profile floats through the deepest of the deep and provides a playful platform for slarving through turns and quickly dumping speed
  • Indi-Block core features maple laminates over poplar to ensure a reliably stiff flex for busting through crud and powering through ludicrously fast turns
  • Hals Construction fuses the core, fiberglass, base, and top sheet but has no sidewall, which enables the highest amount of energy transference and greatest control in big-mountain terrain
  • Long-lasting fiberglass sheets add longitudinal and torsional stiffness for sustained raging on crud and hardpack between dumps
  • Dampening system features rubber foil between the edge and core to silence chatter during high-speed turns and run-outs
  • 122mm underfoot keeps you on top of the deepest snow inbounds or way out in the backcountry and provides a super-stompable landing pad during big cliff drops
  • Reflect Technology sidecut enables stable carving despite the ski's reverse camber design—its tapered tip and tail prevent hooking in deep snow and crud without limiting power during any type of turn you need to make

A U.S Built pow-slayer

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

What's not to love? The 4FRNT Renegade has been crushing big terrain for a few years now, and it just got better. I am loving the collaborative effort of my two favorite companies. The original graphic wasn't my favorite, so I am glad this option exists! Same ski, just with a cooler BC.com specific top-sheet. What's not to love?

My new favorite ski

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

4frnt built an amazing ski that has the shape and width to float bottomless pow but also made it stiff enough to handle the variable snow conditions that you are going to run into. I wasn't sure of the ski at first because i thought it would be too stiff of a powder ski but 4 "powder" days at snowbird have made me realize how great of a ski it is. 1 of the days had a rime crust and these skis powered through it with the full rocker making it easy to turn. One day was wind affected and the stiffness of the skis really helped with the variable snow. The 2 deep days were a blast with these skis easily floating through the snow.

The skis come with a flat base that has a nice structure edge to edge tuned by twin peaks repair shop in Utah. This is a big deal if you are currently on another pair of independently made skis where the bases are usually not flat. Thank you 4frnt for putting in the time and effort to make a flat ski.

This ski now comes with a plastic piece on the tail which you can file to make skin attachment secure.

Pow Slayer

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This ski shines in the pow. The Reflect Tech, which is where 4FRNT matches the rocker radius to the sidecut radius of 35 m, makes this ski surprisingly nimble edge to edge with no tip hook. It rails like a fully cambered ski. The stiffer flex makes it super stable at speed and the tapered tip and tail allow the ski to transition smoothly from a carve to a smear. The limited edition BC.com co-lab art guarantee you'll be one of only a handful of rippers on this ski.

Sick version of the 4frnt Renegade.

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This ski is a great option if you are looking for a unique new take on the Renegade. The Renegade charges harder than any ski out there. You honestly won't find a more powerful and stable pow/all mountain ski on the market. It rips big lines at high speeds, BUT remains a super fun and playful pow ski through it all. The overall construction and wood sidewalls make it bombproof. I think the BC take on its really refreshing and the fact that it's made by hand in Utah makes each ski even more original. Also, there's no other ski I would rather be on when it gets deep. So far this year, I have been loving this ski.
