Description

Wrap some oh-so-comfortable cork tape around the 3T Ergonova Pro Alloy Handlebar, pause to admire, and hit the road for an all-day adventure.

While we don't hide our preference for shallow, non-anatomic bars, we understand that some folks don't agree. If you're keen on "ergo" bars, then you will want to give the 3T Ergonova Pro Alloy Handlebar a good look. 3T has lavished the same loving attention to this bar as it has with the more traditionally shaped Rotundo.

With the Ergonova Pro Alloy Handlebar, 3T acknowledges that there are many riders out there who have Cervelo Test Team taste but perhaps not the Cervelo Test Team budget. The Pro level offers the ideal balance between top-flight performance and feet-on-ground price. And beyond the price issue, you get the supreme reliability of its AL7075 alloy construction, which keeps the weight reasonable at 326g while offering all the piece of mind that goes hand in hand with alloy bars.

The Ergonova Pro shares the same shape and drop characteristics that you'll find in the Team and LTD versions. This means that the top of the bars are egg or tear-drop shaped which is intended to give your hands a flatter, more comfortable surface to hold onto. The designers have also seemed to anticipate some of our objections to "ergo" bars by keeping an eye on the needs of the smaller person. Not only do these bars come in an array of widths ranging from 38 to 44cm (c-c), but the reach is quite moderate at 77mm and the drop is a comfortable 123mm. Whereas a bar like the FSA Wing Pro has a 145mm drop making it very difficult for a rider with small hands to reach the brake levers while in the drops, the 123mm Ergonova drop is much closer to what one would find in a shallow, classic shape bar, giving greater ease of access to the levers and other controls. Available in sizes 38cm-44cm (center-center) in 2cm increments. Compatible with 31.8mm stems only.

Just Right!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Purchased this with my ARX alloy stem. Looks great, feels even better. I love the egg shape top bar.

What I have on all my bikes

Perfect shape for me. Hoods and drops are pretty close together. Makes it easy to fit.

The Perfect shape.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have the carbon bars on my road bike and these on my cross bike. I love the ergonomic shape. Make sure to order one size larger if you mostly ride on the hoods as a 42 measures 40 c-c on the upper part of the bar.

Great ergo handlebar

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

THE GOOD: Love the comfortable egg shaped top of the bars. All positions on the bar are very nice. Cable routing is also good.

NOT SO GOOD: A heavy rain washed off the bar's white graphics. They just peeled right off.

BOTTOM LINE: Yeah, I miss my graphics but I'm very happy with these.

where are the handlebar widths measured, hood to hood c-c?, or drop bar c-c? is the top width the same as the bottom?

Responded on

Handlebar widths are measured at the bottom/drops. The drops on this bar flare 6* so the width at the hoods is ~1cm narrower.

What is the real weight of this product? The text says 260g, the spec says 326g, which is correct.

Hey Simon,

3T's site says the bar weighs 326 g (42 cm). I'll get this fixed.

Is this an actual picture of the bar for sale, when I choose a size it says the Garmin edition. What is the Garmin edition?
Cheers

The pictured Black/Ano version is the only available now. The Garmin variant just had a different graphic, but has sold out.
