Description

Riding is believing.

We know that the world is your oyster when it comes to tech-driven cycling jackets. However, after a little research, and the inevitable trial and error, you'll find that some jackets boast only the price tag, while others hold all of the quality. Such is the case with the 2XU Sub Zero Women's Jacket. 2XU doesn't have to rely on marketing jargon and hero images to convince you that its fit and materials are second-to-none. Instead, the Sub Zero relies on its reputation for comfort and protection to get its message across. With a host of custom fabrics and a women-specific design, you'll find that cold-weather riding just got easier.

It took two proprietary fabrics to construct the Sub Zero jacket. For the base of the composition, 2XU used its MC2186a material. No, that's not 2XU's email password, it's a race-ready softshell with mechanical stretch. By this, we mean that the weave of the fabric has been designed to move, flex, and stretch with your body throughout the motions of cycling. Additionally, the Sub Zero has been given 2XU's 10:10 X Stretch membrane in order to keep you protected from the elements. This membrane works to not only block out wind and water, but to let heat and vapor escape from within the jacket, as well. In fact, this membrane boasts some of the highest effective results in the 2XU fabric lineup. While maintaining a consistent thermo-regulation, the membrane pulls sweat and vapor away from the skin to wick to the surface. Concurrently, while your core temperature rises, the jacket breathes to retain a stable level of warmth. So, regardless of your exertion level, the internal micro-climate of the Sub Zero won't run the risk of overheating -- a typical occurrence with winter climbing and racing.

For the fit, 2XU approached the Sub Zero jacket with a minimal-seam concept in mind. This eliminates abrasion, while enhancing the anatomic shape of the jacket. And knowing that the Sub Zero will be used in the saddle, 2XU elongated the rear hem and sculpted the sleeve cuffs. These features provide added protection from the elements by preventing rogue drafts to infiltrate the jacket. Even further along these lines, you'll notice that the Sub Zero has what 2XU calls its Wind Break Collar. Extending out of the jacket's 'natural' collar, the Wind Break reduces the neck's exposed surface area without the added bulk of a typical collar.

Rounding out the jacket, 2XU provided a few thoughtful details to make your cold rides easier. The Sub Zero has three angled rear pockets that are a cinch to reach while stretched out over the hoods. For items like your cash or keys, 2XU included a zippered, fusion-welded chest pocket. And on the other side of the full-length front zipper, you'll also find a discreet dock to park your eyewear during intense efforts like climbing.

The 2XU Sub Zero Women's Jacket is available in the color Black/black and in five sizes from X-Small to X-Large.
