A bit more height in your climbing wires really helps when you're trekking up steep slopes in the backcountry. The Twenty Two Designs' Tall HammerHeel Bail climbing wires are a half-inch longer than standard bails, so you're legs get less fatigued and your ankles get less of that bending-awkwardly-to-keep-your-ski-down feeling. The Tall HammerHeel Bails work with Twenty Two Designs' HammerHead and Bombshell bindings, and they rise to just over 2 ¼ inches above your heel plate.

They are rugged, bent to fit your Hammerheads.... I find that the stock lifters are enough. Buy if you like to hike strait up the bootpack lane... Or if you aspire to collect bits of bent wire.
