Description

The Force-SL is the chosen one.

You may have been born about 200 years too soon to be the last great hope to save the universe from total annihilation, but at least you have the power to destroy the entire mountain in the 21st century. Your skills must be precise, but you must also be armed with the right weapon. The Union Force-SL Binding is just that: uber-strong materials, added power features, and extra cushion for all-mountain domination.
  • Carbon-injected Stage II baseplate offers incredible strength and support for hard-charging shredders
  • Machine coring in the baseplate reduces overall weight to keep you flying high and fast
  • Asym/Symmetrical highback provides heelside (outer leg) strength through the design without altering the shape of the highback
  • Multi-layer 3D EVA in the straps evenly distributes pressure for long-term comfort
  • CNC Heelcup features holes where material is removed to reduce weight without reducing overall strength
  • Grade 8.8 hardware is made from high-grade steel to provide exceptional strength and long life
  • Magnesium used for the buckles is extremely light, easily recycled, and is one of the most abundant materials on the earth

I did dish out a lot to gift myself with these, and I logged about 10 hours on them so far. During my first day out, I realized that the company-spec adjustments for the straps were too big so I had to adjust it for my second day, and once I got it all perfect, they were PERFECT. When I first looked at them out of the box, they were screaming quality. These bindings are made well. They are light too. The buckles/ratchets feel awesome when being used, and the bindings overall are very comfortable. The only downside is that the toe capping straps don't really cap your toes...I don't know what their reasoning behind the design is, but I just use it as a standard strap over the foot and it works just fine.

To my dismay two months ago, a thumb screw fell off on my ankle strap on one of my bindings. I found a replacement screw (a standard flat-head screw) to fix the issue. I emailed Union's warranty people, and they quickly replied back saying "we'll mail you a new thumb screw".
A few days later, they USPS priority mailed me 2 thumb screws, and stickers! Talk about customer service.
